Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

While there is flexibility in the length of research articles, all manuscripts must include the key sections, including the title, abstract, introduction, methodology, results and discussion, conclusions, figures and tables with captions, and any supplementary material (if required). Maintain a font size of 12 in Times New Roman throughout the manuscript (with an exception to the font size of tables, figures, and footnotes). Utilize the APA reference style for citations and bibliographies. Use reference management software for accurate formatting.

Submission checklist:

  1. Upload all manuscript and supplementary material files.
  2. Provide accurate author names and affiliations.
  3. Establish the author sequence in agreement with co-authors.
  4. Designate one author as the corresponding author.
  5. Ensure the abstract is self-contained and does not exceed 200 words.
  6. Include crucial sections in the manuscript: the title, abstract, introduction, methodology, results and discussion, conclusions, figures, and tables with captions.
  7. Conduct a comprehensive check for spelling and grammar.
  8. Verify that all references are appropriately cited in the text, and vice versa.
  9. Obtain the necessary permissions for copyrighted material.
  10. Select pertinent subject areas and furnish keywords.
  11. Make all the required declarations.

Language Standards:

Manuscripts need to meet language quality standards to be accepted. Make sure there are no language, syntax, or typing mistakes.

Data Accessibility:

JGKSD encourages authors to share research data when appropriate, supporting data linking, Mendeley Data, and data statements. Additionally, manuscripts must include the data sources of the datasets used in the analyses.
